For some time now, folks have been asking us if we have any blends that include mushrooms. “Functional mushrooms,” as they are often called, are studied for having a wide range of beneficial qualities. Neuroprotective, supportive for immunity and inflammation, positive effects for gut health, antioxidant effects and more; the study of the positive effects of mushrooms on our health only seems to keep growing.
We have also heard from some guests that they do not always want to go to the effort of boiling their chai with milk on the stove. While we maintain that this is the most delicious and authentic way to enjoy a cup of chai, vegans and people with lactose intolerance have asked us for other spicy options when they dine with us.
So… Drumroll! Please meet the Organic Steeping Mushroom Chai.
The Steeping Mushroom Chai is a lovely combination of traditional chai spices including cardamom, fennel, cinnamon, star anise, ginger and clove, with added notes of rose and ten types of functional mushrooms. This blend is more amenable to steeping in hot water, although if you prefer to boil on the stove and add milk or milk substitute, it will work with that preparation method as well.
The mushrooms included in this blend are: Lion’s Mane, Chaga, Reishi, Turkey Tail, Cordyceps, Wood Ear, Oyster, Shiitake, Maitake, and Mesima.
